Part 1 · Communicating and meeting
Link pages
Publish a public page that gathers the links of each person or of an event, with a QR code to place in an email signature.
The Pages de liens (link pages) application publishes, under a short address, a page that gathers every way to reach a person: appointment booking, secure file drop, meeting room, email, phone numbers, social networks. It also produces a QR code in your colours that the person places in an email signature or on a business card. It serves anyone who has a signature, and the person who manages the organization's image. The result: a page that stays accurate when a link changes, without anyone editing it.
Overview#
A link page looks like what hosted link-page services offer, with one fundamental difference: the links are not copied. They are read from your database when the page is displayed. A person's booking link, secure drop page, email and phone numbers already exist in Symbifox. When one of them changes, the page follows. A QR code already printed still leads to the right place, since it encodes the page's address and not the link's.
There are two kinds of page. A page attached to a person (“Rattachée à une personne” on screen) belongs to a contact or an employee, inherits a template assigned by group and lives as long as the person does. A one-off page (“Ponctuelle” on screen) has no owner: it serves an event or a file. It gets an expiry date at creation, so that forgetting it closes it rather than leaving it open.
Each page is made of links. A link has a source: either an address entered by hand, or a source resolved from the database. Resolved sources are appointments, secure drop, meeting room, contact email, office phone, cell phone, direct line, toll-free number, website and social networks. A template combines a set of links and a look (layout, theme, accent colour). It applies automatically to the members of the targeted groups.
The public page adapts to the light or dark theme of the visitor's device, offers a French and English switcher, and has a button to add the person to one's contacts. It counts its visits, and each link counts its clicks.
This module is published but absent from the Boréal demo. This chapter describes it from its documentation and its declared screens, without screenshots (module published, not illustrated).
Configuration#
Access and permissions#
Two permission groups are offered in Settings › Users & Companies › Users:
| Group | What it opens |
|---|---|
| Sa propre page (own page) | See the application, read all pages (to avoid duplicate addresses), edit only your own page and its links |
| Gestion des pages de liens (link page management) | Everything above, plus creating one-off pages, templates and settings |
The Configuration menu appears only to members of the Gestion des pages de liens group.
Settings#
The settings are in Pages de liens › Configuration › Réglages (settings), which opens the matching section of General Settings:
| Setting | Effect |
|---|---|
| Créer une page pour chaque employé (create a page for each employee) | A daily run creates the missing page of each active employee who has a contact or a user account. Without the Employees application, the setting has no effect. |
| État à la création (state at creation) | “Brouillon” (draft) or “Publiée” (published). A published page exposes the person's work email and work phone on a public address. In draft, the page exists, already filled in, but stays invisible until someone publishes it. |
| Rafraîchir les pages qui suivent un gabarit (refresh pages that follow a template) | At each run, the links that came from the template are updated; links added by hand are kept. |
| Durée de vie d'une page ponctuelle (jours) (one-off page lifetime, in days) | Expiry set when a one-off page is created. Empty or zero: 90 days. |
| Prochaine passe, Passe planifiée active (next run, scheduled run active) | Read-only: when the run will happen, and whether it is active. |
Two buttons come with these settings. Exécuter maintenant (run now) starts the run without waiting. Régler la fréquence (set frequency) opens the scheduled task so you can change how often it runs.
Base data#
Seven templates are provided at installation. Before opening pages to a whole team, review them in Pages de liens › Configuration › Gabarits (templates). Check the links they add, the targeted groups, and which one serves as the default template. A page attached to a person receives its group's template, otherwise the default template.
The branded QR code takes its logo from the company logo, set in Settings › Users & Companies › Companies. This logo must be a raster image (PNG or JPG). An SVG logo, valid everywhere else, cannot be embedded in a QR code, and the record says so.
Getting started#
This walkthrough creates Camille Tremblay's page, then downloads her QR code. It assumes the Gestion des pages de liens permission.
- Go to Pages de liens › Pages, then select New.
- Enter the Titre (title): “Camille Tremblay”.
- Enter the Identifiant URL (URL identifier): “camille-tremblay”. Use lowercase letters, digits and hyphens only: it is the end of the public address.
- In Nature (kind), keep “Rattachée à une personne”, then choose Camille Tremblay as the Contact and as the Utilisateur (user).
- Choose a Gabarit (template). Its links are added in the Liens (links) tab, and its look is copied to the page.
- In the Liens tab, check the Adresse résolue (resolved address) column. A link whose address stays empty will not appear on the page.
- Select Publier (publish), then Voir la page (view page) to open it in a new tab.
Result: the page is live at the Adresse publique (public address) shown on the record. In the Code QR tab, the Aperçu (preview) shows the code as it will be downloaded. Select Télécharger (download) to get the PNG file to insert in an email signature.
Common tasks#
Create a person's page from their contact record#
When the automatic run is off, or for a contact who is not an employee, create the page from the contact record.
- Open Contacts and the person's record.
- Among the shortcut buttons at the top of the form, select Pages de liens.
- Select New. The contact is already set, and the template of the person's group applies.
- Adjust the Titre and the Identifiant URL.
- Select Publier.
Result: the shortcut button on the contact record counts one more page.
Create a one-off page#
A one-off page serves an event, a file or a campaign. It has no owner and closes on its own.
- Go to Pages de liens › Pages, then select New.
- In Nature, choose “Ponctuelle”.
- Enter the Titre and the Identifiant URL.
- Check Expire le (expires on). The date is set in advance from the lifetime configured in the settings. Adjust it or clear it.
- In the Liens tab, add the links you want, with the source “Adresse saisie” (entered address) for external addresses.
- Select Publier.
Result: the page is live until the expiry date. After that date, it responds like a page that does not exist. A one-off page does not offer the contact card, since it carries no person.
Add a link to a page#
A link added by hand survives the template refresh: only links added by a template are replaced.
- Open the page in Pages de liens › Pages.
- In the Liens tab, select Add a line.
- Enter the Libellé (label) and, if needed, the Précision (a detail line under the label) and the Icône (icon).
- Choose the Source. For “Adresse saisie”, fill in the Adresse (address); for any other source, the address is resolved from the database.
- Save, then check the Adresse résolue of the new line.
Result: the link appears on the public page at the next visit. A social network link shows in a row of icons under the main links, without a label.
Hide a link without deleting it#
You can take a link off the page while keeping it in the list, which preserves its click statistics.
- Open the page, then the Liens tab.
- Clear the display checkbox on the line concerned.
- Save.
Result: the link disappears from the public page. The line stays visible in the tab, and checking the box again puts the link back online.
Set the page's look#
Layout and theme are set per page, independently of each other.
- Open the page, then the Présentation (presentation) tab.
- Choose the Disposition (layout): cards, raised cards, minimal, solid buttons or technical.
- Choose the Thème (theme). “Selon l'appareil” (per device) follows the visitor's preference; the other two force one look.
- Check or clear Offrir le bascule clair/sombre (offer the light/dark toggle), Offrir la carte de visite (offer the contact card, a vCard file) and Afficher le logo de l'entreprise (show the company logo).
- If needed, enter the Sous-titre (subtitle), the Présentation, the Photo and the Couleur d'accent (accent colour).
- Save.
Result: the public page reflects your choices at the next visit. A visitor's light or dark choice is kept in their browser only.
Reapply the template#
After a template change, a page that the automatic run does not refresh can be updated by hand.
- Open the page in Pages de liens › Pages.
- Select Réappliquer le gabarit (reapply template).
Result: the links that came from the template are replaced by its current version; links added by hand stay in place. The look (layout, theme, colour) is taken from the template again on this occasion, as at the first association.
Set up and download the QR code#
The QR code encodes the page's address. You download it once, then insert it in a signature or a printed document.
- Open the page, then the Code QR tab.
- Check Logo au centre (logo in the centre) for a branded code. If needed, choose a Logo du code QR (QR code logo) specific to the page; a square image gives the best result.
- Choose the Cartouche derrière le logo (plate behind the logo): the code's background, the code's colour, or none.
- Set the Taille (size), the Couleur du code (code colour) and the Fond du code (code background).
- Check the Aperçu, which is the actual rendering.
- Select Télécharger.
Result: a PNG file to insert in the email signature. If the chosen colours break the readability rules, the record shows a warning and the code falls back to black on white.
Close a page#
A closed page responds like a page that does not exist, without being deleted: its links and statistics remain available.
- Open the page in Pages de liens › Pages.
- Select Fermer (close).
Result: the État (state) changes to closed and En ligne (online) is cleared. Publier puts the page back online.
Read a page's statistics#
The counters tell you whether the QR code in a signature is actually used.
- Open the page, then the Statistiques (statistics) tab.
- Read Visites (visits) and Dernière visite (last visit) for the page, and Clics (clicks) for each link.
Result: a marked gap between visits and clicks shows that people arrive and leave without opening anything.
Create a template#
A template adds a set of links and a look to every page of the targeted groups.
- Go to Pages de liens › Configuration › Gabarits, then select New.
- Enter the Nom (name), and choose the Disposition, the Thème and the Couleur d'accent.
- In Groupes visés (targeted groups), choose the groups whose members receive this template. Leave it empty for a template applied by hand only.
- Check Gabarit par défaut (default template) if this template should serve when no group template matches.
- In the Liens tab, add the lines: Libellé, Précision, Icône, Source and, for an entered address, the Adresse.
- Save.
Result: new pages in the targeted groups receive these links. Existing pages receive them at the next run if refresh is on, or through Réappliquer le gabarit.
Run the creation pass by hand#
After several employees join, or after a template change, you can start the daily run without waiting.
- Go to Pages de liens › Configuration › Réglages.
- Select Exécuter maintenant.
Result: the missing pages of active employees are created in the configured state, and pages that follow a template are refreshed.
The menus, one by one#
This module is absent from the demo: the menus described here are the ones the module declares.
Pages de liens › Pages: the list of all pages. It shows the Titre, Identifiant URL, Nature, Contact, Gabarit, État, En ligne, Expire le, the number of links and of displayed links, and the Visites. Useful filters: En ligne, Expirées (expired), Ponctuelles (one-off), Archivées (archived). You can group by Nature, État and Gabarit. This is the everyday working screen. On an empty screen, the help text recalls that a page gathers a person's links under a short address. It adds that booking and secure drop links are resolved from the database.
Pages de liens › Configuration: a grouping menu, visible only to the Gestion des pages de liens group.
Pages de liens › Configuration › Gabarits: the list of templates, with the Nom, Disposition, Thème, Couleur d'accent, Groupes visés, the Gabarit par défaut checkbox and the number of pages that follow each one. The form has the Liens and Remarques (remarks) tabs.
Pages de liens › Configuration › Réglages: the Pages de liens section of General Settings, described in Configuration.

Reports and exports#
The application produces no PDF report. Two files can be downloaded. The first is the page's QR code as a PNG (Télécharger in the Code QR tab, for signed-in people only). The second is the person's contact card (the “Add to my contacts” button on the public page). The card carries the same numbers as the page, in the same order, with the page's address as its website.
Automations#
A daily run creates the missing page of each active employee and refreshes the pages that follow a template, according to the settings. It never reapplies the look: a colour chosen on a page is not undone overnight. A one-off page closes on its expiry date without any task running, because the date is read at each display. Each page visit and each link click is added to the counters.
Public pages and portal#
| Address | Access | Role |
|---|---|---|
/l/<identifier> |
Public | The link page |
/<language>/l/<identifier> |
Public | The same page in the other language, with its own shareable address |
/l/<identifier>/go/<number> |
Public | Counts the click, then redirects to the link |
/l/<identifier>/vcard.vcf |
Public | The contact card, which contains only what the page already shows |
/l/<identifier>/qr.png |
Signed-in people | The QR code as a PNG; ?branded=0 without a logo, &size=6 for a more compact rendering |
The page photo and the company logo are served by addresses specific to the module, so an anonymous visitor sees them without holding any right on the records.
Modules that extend this application#
Two modules provide resolved link sources. Without them, the corresponding source stays in the list, but its link is not displayed.
The second resolved source comes from the Secure transfers application.
A third-party module can add other sources; they then appear in a link's list of sources.
Understanding#
An unknown address always responds the same way. Nonexistent, draft, closed, archived or expired: the response is identical, a page not found. The module never redirects to a home page, because its address ends up in printed QR codes. A code that quietly landed on the wrong page could never be corrected. And an address that responded differently by state would tell an anonymous visitor which identifiers exist.
A link whose source goes silent disappears. The module does not make up an approximate address and sends no one to a home page. The gap between Liens and Liens affichés on the record is the only way to see that a source no longer responds.
The address starts with /l/. An identifier served at the site root would collide with the website, shop or blog pages, intermittently, depending on the language prefix. Two more characters in the QR code remove that whole family of failures.
The QR code is measured, not assumed. The branded code uses the highest error-correction level, because the logo hides part of the code, and the logo is limited to 22% of the side. Two mechanical rules apply to the colours: a contrast of at least 4 to 1, and a code darker than its background. The second is not a precaution of principle: tested with a decoder, a code lighter than its background does not scan at any size. The “Couleur du code” plate exists for one specific case. A logo of the same shade as the background disappears, while the code itself still decodes perfectly.
The look applies only once. A template copies its layout, theme and colour to the page at the first association or on Réappliquer le gabarit. The daily run never touches them. Values that belong to the person (appointment type, meeting room) live on the page, never on a link, so they survive the refresh.
The theme choice stays with the visitor. Their light or dark preference is kept in their browser and never sent to the server: it is a display setting, not a tracker.
The contact card is deliberately conventional. It uses the format most widely accepted by phones, with no duplicate numbers and with the page's address as the website. Saved contact details grow stale; the link to the page stays accurate.
Two languages, two real addresses. The English version has its own address, shareable and indexable. A template's labels are carried over language by language to the links it creates, so an English page does not silently fall back to French.
Custom domains are out of scope. Each domain requires a proxy host and a certificate set up by hand: hosting work that does not belong to the module.
Troubleshooting#
| Symptom | Likely cause | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| The page responds “not found” | The page is in draft, closed, archived or expired, or the identifier is mistyped | Open the record: check En ligne, Expire le and the Identifiant URL, then select Publier |
| A template link does not appear on the page | Its source resolves nothing (provider module missing, person without a booking resource, empty number on the record) | Check Source disponible and Adresse résolue in the Liens tab; complete the contact or employee record |
| The QR code comes out black on white despite the chosen colours | Contrast below 4 to 1, or a code lighter than its background | Darken the Couleur du code or lighten the Fond du code until the warning disappears |
| The QR code has no logo | The company logo is an SVG file | Upload a PNG or JPG logo to the company record, or to Logo du code QR on the page |
| A link added on a one-off page is missing from the template | A link added by hand lives on the page, not in the template | Add it in the template's Liens tab so that it propagates |
| The booking link opens the wrong appointment type | The page takes the resource's first public type | Set Type de rendez-vous on the page |
| The new employee has no page yet | The daily run has not happened yet, or automatic creation is off | In Réglages, check Créer une page pour chaque employé and select Exécuter maintenant |
| The number shown is not the office number | The “Téléphone (ancienne)” (phone, legacy) source takes the contact's cell phone, then the phone, without saying so | Replace the source with “Téléphone du bureau” (office phone), read from the employee record |
